  I attended with my husband and brother and the three of us gorged on spectacular meals: the lamb rump with Goats Cheese salad; the whopping 600gram T-bone cooked to perfection and served with enormous pizzazz and mushroom/mash accompaniments and the Nulla sirloin with bubble and squeak cake. These culinary delights wooed your eyes but the succulent taste made the price seem entirely value - while more expensive than other restaurants in the area, this place offers truly extraordinary meals for a value-packed punch.

  Great spot, and nice enough food, but you're paying city restaurant prices for bistro quality. The bottom line - it's over-priced.

  Dessert options were limited to three and while the bambino cones with gelato weren’t a favourite, the ooze cake and sticky date pudding were divine. The Ooze Cake sauce was rich and delightful and the sticky date pudding meant I had to roll my husband out of the restaurant like a bowling ball.

  Tonight I experienced an unexpected treasure - fine 5-star dining at Freshwater Grill. While ambiance was certainly sufficient and the table settings were adequate, what were true standouts were the food and staff. Table service was excellent with attentive waitstaff that let their personality shine.

  All in all, my husband and I would make a special trip to Kempsey in the future to experience more of the delicacies (floating past us being served to other diners) the Freshwater Grill offers.
